Melbourne Polytechnic is seeking a skilled and motivated Payroll Officer to support the effective delivery of payroll operations and advisory services. This is a great opportunity to contribute to continuous improvement, drive compliance and accuracy, and support collaborative team success in a purpose-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities- Process payroll accurately and on time, including interpreting awards and agreements
- Maintain payroll systems and ensure compliance with legislation and internal policies
- Provide payroll-related advice to staff and management
- Reconcile payroll data and prepare reports for audits and finance
- Support system enhancements and continuous improvement initiatives
- Manage payroll enquiries and ensure high-level customer service
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including Finance, Government Agencies, and Super Funds
- 5+ years' experience in a large payroll environment
- Advanced skills in Chris21/iChris
- Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, accounting standards, and ATO requirements
- High-level organisational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Detail-oriented with a solutions mindset
Successful candidate will be required to provide:
- A valid Victorian Employee Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- A National Police Check
