Position Details
- Full-Time, Permanent Position
- Classification: SCHADS Level 4 with a salary range of Level 4: $88,169 - $94,888; per annum + Superannuation
- Salary packaging arrangements providing tax benefits available for living and entertainment expenses increasing your take home income where part of your wage is paid tax free each pay, savings thousands in tax each year
- Location: Head Office, Preston, howeverremote or hybrid working arrangements will be considered
About your new role
The Payroll Officer is responsible for overseeing the fortnightly and monthly processing of payroll and salary packaging, responding to staff queries and maintaining employee records. The position is part of a team and works under the direction of the Senior Manager Payroll Services.

What you will bring to the role
- Extensive Payroll Experience in a Payroll Officer role or similar position
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, coupled with strong interpersonal, negotiation, influencing, and presentation skills for Payroll processes
- Ability to proactively understand newly presented information and learning tasks
- Proven ability to work autonomouslywith minimal supervision and to prioritise multiple tasks to meet conflicting deadlines accurately
- Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and build trust to deal with sensitive and difficult situations in a diplomatic manner and explains Payroll processes, expresses opinions, information and key points clearly to other staff in a clear and succinct manner.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills and ability to think creatively, looking at complex situations through a solutions-focused lens
- Ability to work productively in a high volume, fast paced and agile environment
- Ability to understand of how payroll specific practices fit into larger organisational structures.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong and accurate data entry skills
- Intermediate experience in MS Office Excel and Word
