About the Role

Independent Mineral Standards (IMS) is creating a new role to expand our customer base across Australia and internationally. We are looking for someone to develop strong client relationships and generate business with our patented CRMs to geologists, QA/QC managers, and analytical laboratories.

You will join a small, technically strong team where your contribution will be visible and valued from the outset. There are already active accounts, but many more potential clients remain to be contacted. Expect around approximately 10–20% of time in travel to attend industry events, create new and build on current relationships, and drive new business.

You will be supported by an account manager for follow-up and administration, and equipped with CRM tools, marketing collateral, and comprehensive product training so you can focus on building relationships and driving sales.


What We're Looking For

We're seeking someone who is:

  • People-oriented — a natural communicator who enjoys developing and building strategic relationships to meet business outcomes.
  • Driven and target-focused — motivated by setting goals, achieving results, and celebrating success in a team environment.
  • Technically minded — experience in exploration mining, analytical chemistry or similar (a technical qualification will be highly regarded).
  • Confident and curious — ability to ask the right questions, to uncover needs and provide accurate solutions to drive business success (prior experience in sales will be highly regarded).

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a thorough understanding of IMS products and services and their value propositions.
  • Create new and maintain current relationships with geologists, lab managers, procurement teams and others who will benefit from IMS products and services.
  • Prepare and present proposals and tenders to deliver solutions to meet client's needs.
  • Improve awareness of IMS through attendance at conferences, industry events and client meetings.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, report on sales performance and market trends.
  • Collaborate with technical and marketing teams to develop campaigns and materials.
  • Meet and exceed sales targets in current markets.
  • Identify new opportunities for meeting customer needs.
