This is a targeted recruitment. Your role

Manage various key areas across the Unit including the oversight of the Court Logistics Operations Centre and resource allocation to service courts, human resource administration, budget management, procurement, workers compensation, data collection, analysis and reporting, video conferencing and fleet vehicle management.

What you'll do

  • Lead a small team responsible for the logistical movement of detainees across the state and provide an environment where movement of detainees is carried out with sensitivity to issues of confidentiality, gender, race, cultural background, disability, age and sexuality in dealing with young persons, their carers, and significant others.
  • Coordinate the video conferencing services including liaison between Central Office, Youth Justice Centres and Attorney General's Department and represent the agency on the Audio Visual Link (AVL) Interagency Operations Committee.
  • Coordinate all aspects of the vehicle fleet including rotation, decommissioning, disposal, removal of specialist transport equipment, procurement and compliant refitting of new vehicles.
  • Coordinate access to the Government Radio Network (GRN), and use of equipment and represent the agency at GRN interagency meetings.
  • Coordinate all aspects of staff Time & Attendance and administration of other staff entitlements such as time in lieu accrued by staff, approvals to fill positions, WH&S .
  • Monitor and evaluate logistical practices and procedures to identify best practice, review timelines and standards, and leads quality assurance across the logistics service delivery area, including implementing and monitoring ethical work practices.
  • Coordinate and maintain complex data collection, analysis, research and reporting across a broad area, such as court numbers, court results, detainee transfers, including financial reports, budget advice and projections and the preparation of reports and briefing notes and submissions.
  • Contribute to the agency's Individual Training Program (ITP) through self-assessment and feedback to the Manager Court Logistics, Classification and Placements and peers and determine in-service development opportunities and training for staff and ensures that roster arrangements allow for attendance at these programs.

What we're looking for

  • Current NSW Working With Children Check clearance.

Appointments are subject to reference checks. Some roles may also require the following checks/ clearances:

  • National Criminal History Record Check in accordance with the Disability Inclusion Act 2014
  • Working with Children Check clearance in accordance with the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012

In addition to the above essential criteria, we are looking for someone who:

  • Experience in a logistic and movement control centre environment
  • Knowledge of Youth Justice services and legislation.
  • Understanding and knowledge of the significant trauma and disadvantage young people experience. Display key understanding of the unique sensitive, cultural differences and social complexities of young people, their families and communities.
