About the role

As the Executive Assistant, you will be delivering high level administrative, executive and operational support. Your efforts will play a pivotal role in helping the team to achieve program objectives that aim for positive outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Handling financial transaction and manage procurement activities inline with departments policy.
  • Providing secretarial support for meetings including note taking, briefing preparation and presentations.
  • Effectively manage and maintain records and monitor all correspondence and emails.
  • Maintain effective relationships with various stakeholders and responding to enquiries in a timely manner.

  • Drive outcomes and see tasks through to completion.
  • Demonstrate ability to develop and maintain relationship network at all levels.
  • Exercise professional judgement to manage competing priorities.
  • Display strength in forward planning, time management and prioritisation.

Key Knowledge and Experience

  • Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

Essential requirements of the role

  • Hold a valid Working with Children Check for paid employment.
  • This position is designated for the employment of an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person.
