Lead the Future of Technical Facilities Services

Our client is an innovative, privately owned Australian business specialising in hard and technical facilities services for major asset, commercial, and industrial property owners across the country. With consistent year-on-year growth and a highly specialised, safety-critical service offering, they are now seeking a proven and strategic CEO to lead the company through its next phase of growth.

About the Role

The CEO will play a pivotal role in scaling operations, strengthening organisational capability, and deepening customer engagement across Australia. This is a hands-on, customer-facing leadership role, well suited to an experienced executive with a background in field-based technical services and a proven ability to grow businesses through both strategic insight and operational execution.

As the founder transitions to a Non-Executive Director role, the CEO will assume full leadership responsibility, including financial performance, safety leadership, business development, team culture, and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Growth: Develop and execute business development strategies aligned with corporate goals.
  • Financial Leadership: Manage P&L, drive EBIT and gross margin improvements, and ensure effective cost control.
  • Safety & Quality: Lead safety performance, implement and improve safety management systems, and uphold service quality.
  • Culture & Talent: Foster a collaborative, inclusive culture and drive organisational and leadership development.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with key customers, property owners, and internal stakeholders including sister businesses within the Group.
  • Operational Excellence: Improve processes to enhance efficiency and service delivery outcomes.

Candidate Profile

To be considered, you must bring deep experience in hard or technical facilities services, with field-based technicians delivering contracted services to major commercial or industrial customers. You are commercially astute, strategic, and thrive in high-accountability leadership roles.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree in Business, Engineering, or Technical discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years' executive leadership experience in hard or technical facility services (e.g., HVAC, Electrical, Fire Systems, Access Control, Building Automation, Height Access).
  • Experience leading decentralised, technician-based field service operations.
  • Demonstrated success in driving growth, customer retention, and operational performance.
  • Strong contract negotiation skills.
  • Deep relationships across the facilities/property management sector.
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen, including analytics and strategy execution.
  • Proven experience in building culture, leading change, and developing talent.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to report to boards and senior executives.
  • Safety systems and compliance experience desirable.
  • Experience reporting into a Board will be highly considered.

Key Success Metrics

  • Financial: Revenue growth, profitability, and working capital efficiency.
  • Market: Increased share and penetration in niche technical facilities sectors.
  • Operations: Improved service delivery efficiency and safety compliance.
  • Leadership: Team development, stakeholder engagement, and organisational maturity.
  • Innovation: Driving continuous improvement and market-leading solutions.

This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of a growing business in a mission-critical sector. As CEO, you will work closely with a respected Chair and an experienced Board to build something enduring – combining entrepreneurial spirit with corporate structure and discipline.
