As custodians of RSL Queensland’s (RSLQ) State Branch, the Office of the CEO is responsible for implementing the organisation’s strategic direction set by the Board of Directors, while delivering direction and support to RSLQ’s various committees, and the organisation at large.

RSLQ is thrilled to announce a role designed to build strong Defence relationships, acting as a connector between the organisation and the Australian Government's Department of Defence.

Responsible for contract management with the Australian Government’s Department of Defence for a wide range of activities, you’ll support the Head of Defence Partnerships as you work alongside Defence to ensure:

- the deployment of human performance programs and welfare training and programs,
- hands-on delivery of community engagement activities, and
- project management of pilot initiatives, activity reports and contract benefits realisation for relationships nationwide.

Major responsibilities include (though are not limited to):

- overall operational management of all contracts within the portfolio
- coordinating with RSLQ’s legal team to ensure all Defence contractual and non-contracted activities are undertaken in line with requirements and frameworks
- ensuring legal, statutory, and organisational compliance obligations are captured in agreements and all leveraging activities meet requirements
- providing comprehensive knowledge to the team on ADF policy
- presenting on-base to various stakeholders across Australia to promote RSLQ initiatives and representing RSLQ at Defence-driven forums
- leveraging and generating opportunities for the wider Veteran Services team through deep understanding of the key portfolio and priorities of Commanding Officers

About you:

- Relevant tertiary qualification in Business or related discipline, or comparable professional experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role or working with similar stakeholders, preferably within a community-based organisation dealing with stakeholders at all levels (Executive level, Senior Management and Government)
- Demonstrated ability to draft sponsorship agreements and execute agreements in line with legal requirements
- Flexibility to work across and within broad geographical areas
- Ability to travel to meet portfolio engagements required across Australia
