RSL Queensland
is thrilled to announce a role designed to build strong Defence relationships, acting as a connector between the organisation and the Australian Government's Department of Defence.

Responsible for contract management with the Australian Government's Department of Defence for a wide range of activities, you'll support the Head of Defence Partnerships as you work alongside Defence to ensure:

  1. the deployment of human performance programs and welfare training and programs,
  2. hands-on delivery of community engagement activities, and
  3. project management of pilot initiatives, activity reports and contract benefits realisation for relationships nationwide.

Major responsibilities include (though are not limited to):

  • overall operational management of all contracts within the portfolio
  • coordinating with RSLQ's legal team to ensure all Defence contractual and non-contracted activities are undertaken in line with requirements and frameworks
  • ensuring legal, statutory, and organisational compliance obligations are captured in agreements and all leveraging activities meet requirements
  • providing comprehensive knowledge to the team on ADF policy
  • presenting on-base to various stakeholders across Australia to promote RSLQ initiatives and representing RSLQ at Defence-driven forums
  • leveraging and generating opportunities for the wider Veteran Services team through deep understanding of the key portfolio and priorities of Commanding Officers

About you:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Business or related discipline, or comparable professional experience
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role or working with similar stakeholders, preferably within a community-based organisation dealing with stakeholders at all levels (Executive level, Senior Management and Government)
  • Demonstrated ability to draft sponsorship agreements and execute agreements in line with legal requirements
  • Flexibility to work across and within broad geographical areas
  • Ability to travel to meet portfolio engagements required across Australia
