We are seeking an engaging and innovative Planning Officer to join our Statutory Planning team.

This position will provide the right person with interesting and varied professional planning opportunities to work within a brownfield/infill environment, supported by a local planning policy framework including Activity Centre Plans, and a Local Planning Strategy designed to deliver growth and diversity.

In this role you will put to use your relevant tertiary qualifications and experience working on a caseload covering a range of development management issues.

**Skills and Experience Required**:

- Ability to interpret and understand detailed plans.
- Understanding and knowledge of planning policy and legislation.
- Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Sound negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Sound organisation and time management skills.
- Sound customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

**Essential Qualifications**:

- Essential - Tertiary qualification in Town Planning.
- Desirable - Current ‘C’ Class Drivers Licence.
- Desirable - White Card.
