Job Overview

We are looking for a skilled Director Corporate Services to lead the corporate services directorate, reporting directly to the General Manager. The successful candidate will help deliver the council's vision of a progressive country locality with a vibrant and welcoming community.

About the Role

The Director Corporate Services will be responsible for providing professional advice to the GM, Council and Committees on matters under the control of the directorate. As a member of Executive Leadership Team, you will contribute to the development, review and implementation of organisational strategies, policies, plans, and procedures whilst managing the operations of Council's Corporate Services Directorate to ensure compliance with operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership of a dedicated team of individuals
  • Delivering statutory responsibilities in relation to council's financial requirements
  • Rolled out recommendations from the ARIC (tightening governance)
  • Improved WH&S across council
  • Providing quality customer service to the community

What You'll Need

To be successful in this role, you will require a degree level qualification in a range of areas including Business, Finance, Governance, Law, IT, Human Resources, Tourism or equivalent. A passion for people leadership and delivering positive outcomes for the community is essential.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is approximately $145,000 - $160,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition, council accommodation can be made available at a small cost, consisting of a 3-bedroom furnished unit located in Grenfell with options to salary sacrifice. A lease-back vehicle can also be provided at a small cost.

About the Location

The location offers a safe and welcoming community, beautiful villages, and the vast Weddin Mountains National Park. It is less than half a day's drive from Sydney and approximately two hours' drive from Canberra, Dubbo, Bathurst, and Wagga Wagga.
