Job Description

In this key role, you will report to the Portfolio Financial Controller and ensure seamless daily operations of the Finance department for multiple properties, including Novotel Melbourne South Wharf, Ibis Melbourne Glen Waverley, and Ibis Budget Melbourne Airport.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Weekly Payroll Management: Ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll in line with the Hospitality Industry (General) Award 2010.
  • Financial Planning and Analysis: Assist the Cluster Financial Controller with financial forecasting and budget preparation, providing valuable insights to drive business growth.
  • Financial Reporting: Complete end-of-month reports, profit and loss statements, forecasts, and other financial reports to ensure accurate financial representation.
  • Accounts Management: Manage and process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and minimizing financial risks.
  • Team Leadership: Coach and lead the finance team, providing guidance and support to ensure they meet their goals and objectives.
  • Internal Controls: Ensure the implementation and maintenance of internal controls, including credit limits, to safeguard company assets.
  • Audit Support: Assist with audits related to financial standards and procedures, ensuring compliance and accuracy.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in the hospitality industry.
  • Qualifications: Relevant tertiary qualification desirable, but not essential.
  • Skills: Strong attention to detail, ability to effectively time manage large volumes of work, meet deadlines, and work well under pressure.
  • Training and Coaching: Proven ability to train and coach team members, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles.
  • Technical Skills: Excellent Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, linked spreadsheets, and macros.
  • Customer Service: Authentic customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills, with a flexible approach to resolving issues.
  • System Experience: Experience using Opera (PMS) and SUN System would be advantageous.
