Job Description
Rail Infrastructure Project Management Role
This exciting opportunity is for a Senior Design Manager to lead large-medium scale Rail infrastructure projects within our Sydney Rail team.
You will be responsible for managing the delivery of projects to meet time, quality, budgetary, and health and safety targets.
Manage all aspects of the client relationship to ensure delivery meets or exceeds client expectations.
Take a leadership role with the project team, providing direction and technical advice, and leading by example where appropriate.
Key Accountabilities
- Oversee multi-disciplinary design coordination and provide technical leadership to project teams.
- Attend client meetings, respond to enquiries, and collaborate across all stages of the project lifecycle.
- Take responsibility for financial and project management controls which enable monitoring, modification, and forecasting as appropriate.
- Manage the acquisition, deployment, and optimization of resources for the project.
- Drive timely service delivery, including technical and commercial outcomes, and undertake reviews to ensure delivery is above client expectation.
- Ensure effective financial and project management controls are in place and deployed to enable monitoring, modification, and forecasting of design progress as appropriate.
- Communicate effectively with all stakeholders to ensure all parties are kept informed on all relevant matters impacting and influencing project design outcome.
- Drive project performance, service delivery, and technical outcomes, ensuring client delivery is above expectation.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree qualified engineering professional with extensive experience in project and/or design management.
- Demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary design teams for rail projects within a design and engineering consultancy environment.
- Ability to implement design delivery best practice, including risk and change management, project and work breakdown structure planning and establishment.
- Well-versed in modern methods of delivery, including model-based systems engineering and digital engineering processes.
- Construction staging and experience would be advantageous.
- Well-developed technical and commercial skills, with a sound knowledge of the rail industry.
- Established stakeholder management capability with a focus on building credible, collaborative but influential relationships both internally and externally.
- Previous experience with NSW or QLD projects will be highly regarded.
