About the Opportunity

Frontyard is a specialist youth service providing intensive support to young people aged 15-24 years. The Circuit Breaker Accommodation Program offers a mix of short and longer-term therapeutic housing options for young people experiencing homelessness.

Our team works from a healing-oriented, strengths-based framework, focusing on client goals and exit strategies.

  • We are seeking an Accommodation Support Worker who can work collaboratively with clients, case managers, and multidisciplinary teams to achieve client goals.
  • The worker will assist clients in accessing accommodation options, including supported accommodation, family reconciliation, and social or transitional housing.
  • Facilitating access to specialist support services, such as health, mental health, AOD, and therapeutic interventions is also required.
  • The successful candidate will be able to respond effectively to challenging behaviors and manage crises.

Responsibilities and Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in youth work, community development, or social work, or extensive community sector experience are essential.
  • An understanding of key worker frameworks and intake, assessment, and ongoing support processes is required.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience working with young people experiencing homelessness and knowledge of trauma-informed approaches.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills, including interpersonal, verbal, and written skills are necessary.
  • A First Aid certificate and availability for shift work, including weekends and night shifts are also required.
