Youth Support Specialist

We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate and experienced professional to deliver early intervention transitional support to young people and couples aged 15-25, and their young families who are homeless or at risk of experiencing homelessness.

As a Youth Support Specialist, you will provide engaging support to clients from a diverse range of backgrounds, helping them to break the cycle of homelessness. You will work closely with clients to identify and address their individual needs that contributed to their homelessness.

The role involves providing outreach services, supporting clients to access relevant specialist services and programs, and working as part of a committed team to respond to referrals in a timely manner. You will also have opportunities to engage in training and development activities to enhance your skills and knowledge.

About the Role:

  • Provide support to clients from diverse backgrounds
  • Identify and address individual needs contributing to homelessness
  • Respond to referrals in a timely manner
  • Support clients to access relevant specialist services and programs

Requirements:

  • Diploma/Advanced Diploma/Associate Degree in Community Studies (Welfare), Social Work or related discipline
  • Experience within the homelessness sector
  • Previous experience working with young people presenting complex needs and challenging behaviours
  • Strong communication, organisation and problem solving skills
