Leadership Opportunity in Youth Care

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Team Leader to join our dynamic team in a youth refuge setting. This pivotal role involves leading, supporting, and inspiring a team of dedicated staff to deliver exceptional care and services.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Fostering a positive and collaborative work environment by mentoring and leading the team.
  • Ensuring high-quality care is delivered to young people addressing their complex needs with sensitivity and professionalism.
  • Working within a trauma-informed framework to support young people in their journey towards stability and well-being.
  • Engaging with internal and external stakeholders demonstrating a deep understanding of the challenges faced by young people experiencing homelessness.
  • Safely assessing and managing risk within the program ensuring adherence to all relevant standards and regulations.

Key Requirements:

  • A minimum qualification of Diploma of Community Services or a recognised relevant equivalent qualification.
  • Demonstrated leadership/Team Leader experience in the Youth homelessness sector.
  • Experience in the residential and community services field and in the provision of care and support to children and young people who have experienced homelessness or 'out of home care'.
  • Demonstrated ability as a team leader supervision skills and ability to conduct staff supervision and appraisals.
  • Experience in working with vulnerable young people preferably in a residential care setting.
  • Demonstrated capacity to relate to clients and other stakeholders with dignity and respect.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of issues policies legislation and practices in relation to child and family welfare and youth in Residential Care.
