Senior Labor Relations Specialist

The role of Senior Labor Relations Specialist is crucial in maintaining a harmonious work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement labor relations strategies aligned with project goals.
  • Nurture relationships with union representatives, workers, and contractors to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Manage collective bargaining agreements and negotiate terms that benefit both parties.
  • Monitor compliance with labor laws, regulations, and union agreements to prevent disputes.
  • Lead the resolution of industrial disputes, strikes, grievances, and disciplinary actions with minimal project disruption.
  • Collaborate with government authorities to maintain legal compliance on all labor matters.
  • Support site managers and supervisors in managing employee conduct, performance, and behavior.
  • Conduct investigations into grievances, disciplinary cases, and workplace complaints.
  • Maintain accurate records of disciplinary actions, grievances, warnings, and settlements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Law, Industrial Relations, or a related field.
  • At least 8 years of experience in labor relations, preferably in large-scale projects.
  • Extensive knowledge of labor laws, industrial relations frameworks, and employment regulations in Australia.
  • Proven ability to handle union negotiations, grievance procedures, and contractor management.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a high-pressure site environment with diverse workforce dynamics.
  • Capacity to work a 19:9 rotation to site (FIFO).
