Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Member Service Assistant to join our team at Costco Wholesale. As a key member of our front-end staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our members, ensuring their shopping experience is seamless and enjoyable.

About the Role: In this role, you will be expected to conduct regular safety checks, monitor building access, and report any suspicious activity to your duty manager. You will also be responsible for welcoming members, verifying their membership cards, and offering assistance with loading and unloading merchandise.

Daily Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Safety Checks: Conduct hourly safety checks around the warehouse, including checking for spills, trip hazards, and blocked exits. Report any issues to your duty manager and attend regular safety meetings.
  • Member Welcome: Greet members as they enter the warehouse, approach them with a smile, and make eye contact. Verify their membership card and offer assistance if needed.
  • Cart Management: Offer carts to members as needed and ensure the entrance/exit area remains clean and tidy.
  • Handheld Counter: Use a handheld counter to count members entering the warehouse and report half-hourly counts to your Front End Supervisor.
  • Building Access: Monitor building access and report the arrival of armored transport vehicles to your duty manager.
  • Exit Protocol: Greet exiting members, check their receipts for accuracy, and provide assistance if needed.
  • Courteous Service: Provide prompt and courteous service to members, directing them to product and service locations, and assisting with loading and unloading merchandise.

Non-Essential Functions and Tasks:

  • Front End Duties: Assist with front-end duties as necessary, including handling returns and exchanges.
  • Departmental Support: Assist in other departments of the warehouse as required.
