Overview

Gallagher, a leader in providing career development opportunities, is seeking a Dispute Resolution Officer to join its Workers Compensation team.

This role will be responsible for representing the company throughout the conciliation process, determining fair outcomes for workers compensation disputes.

You'll meet with injured workers, conciliators, panel members, and legal representatives throughout the dispute process, with a focus on determining fair outcomes for these disputes.

Your Responsibilities:

  1. Undertake all tasks associated with reconsiderations of disputed decisions with relation to workers' compensation claims, such as preparing for conciliation conferences by conducting pre-conciliation analyses.
  2. Facilitate courteous and customer-focused engagement with various parties and their representatives to drive fair outcomes.
  3. Engage with the Workplace Injury Commission (WIC) with relation to disputed matters.
  4. Represent the company at conciliation conferences (wherever held) in a professional, informative, and courteous manner.
  5. Use your interpersonal skills to provide a high-quality customer service to internal customers, injured workers, and legal representatives.
  6. Settle claims within client service instructions, WorkSafe Victoria legislation, and company guidelines, placing an emphasis on determining a mutually satisfactory resolution.
  7. Handle your own, and support your team's, daily workflow in order to maintain GB's client service standards.
  8. Effectively communicate conciliation outcomes and ensure outcomes have been actioned within specified timeframes.

About You:

We're looking for an enthusiastic and collaborative individual who has:

  • Experience working within the workers' compensation industry and in the application of Work Cover legislation, ideal for success but not essential.
  • Experience within a dispute resolution-based role.
  • Strong conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • A tertiary qualification in the field of law, business, or an industry-specific certification is preferred but not essential.
  • A current and valid driver's license.
