Anton Murray Consulting is seeking a Financial Management Leader to join our client, a reputable global asset manager in Sydney. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to lead a small team that oversees both corporate accounting and fund reporting functions.

This role offers a rare chance to work in the Sydney CBD, with flexible working arrangements available for this important leadership position within the Finance team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the end-to-end company accounting function, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant standards.
  • Maintain all aspects of the general ledger, including financial statements and accounts payable/receivable.
  • Supervise the Accounting Associate, providing guidance and support to ensure their success.
  • Deliver timely and accurate monthly management accounts and quarterly board reports, highlighting key trends and insights.
  • Lead the year-end audit and financial reporting process, ensuring seamless execution and minimal disruption.
  • Oversee tax compliance, staying up-to-date with changes in regulations and legislation.
  • Monitor and review the deliverables of the external fund accountant, ensuring alignment with company goals.
  • Prepare and monitor fund-related payments, maintaining transparency and accountability.
Requirements/Qualifications
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in financial services, with a strong background in accounting and leadership.
  • An accounting degree with postgraduate qualifications preferred, demonstrating advanced knowledge and skills.
  • Prior experience as a team leader or manager, with a proven track record of success.
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting principles and procedures, with the ability to adapt to changing requirements.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders.

The salary for this role is estimated to be between $145,000 and $170,000 per annum, plus superannuation and bonus, depending on relevant experience.
