Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Operations Leader to join our team in Sydney, Australia. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for managing the Fund Accounting (unit pricing) business groups within Northern Trust Australia.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Fund Accounting (unit pricing) business groups, ensuring timely and accurate completion of work.
  • Conduct performance management and career development processes, providing input for staffing and disciplinary actions.
  • Develop periodic goals, organize work, set short-term priorities, and monitor all activities.
  • Provide input and support to budget management process, maintaining risk management and compliance programs and activities for assigned group.
  • Operate independently, with in-depth knowledge of business unit / function.

Your Knowledge/Skills:

  • Strong technical knowledge of Australia Fund Accounting operational processes, business controls, and technical system specifics.
  • Excellent internal and client relationship management skills.
  • Leadership and organizational skills are required to determine unit goals and resources needed, assess and develop staff skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
  • In-depth Functional / Industry Knowledge is required.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills are required.

Experience:

  • Leads through subordinate managers; contributes to functional/operational long-term strategy and aids in annual business plans.
  • Post-qualification experience in increasingly senior roles.
  • Effective communicator with ability to articulate engage with various internal and client stakeholders.
  • Well-developed management and leadership skills.
  • Coaching and counseling skills.
