We are seeking highly skilled professionals to join our team as Alcohol and Drug Clinicians.

Job Description

This is a challenging yet rewarding role that involves delivering evidence-based psychosocial and psychological treatments to help individuals and their families reduce the harms of substance use, improve health, and strengthen social functioning.

As an Alcohol and Drug Clinician, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive client assessments and intakes using standardised tools, developing and delivering tailored treatment plans based on individual needs and readiness for change, providing evidence-based psychological and psychosocial interventions, facilitating family and group therapy sessions to support recovery and strengthen relationships, collaborating with community, public-sector, and health service providers to coordinate client care, and maintaining accurate clinical records and ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and funding requirements.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need qualifications in the health, social or behavioural science field and/or extensive AOD training. You should have experience working with individuals and families affected by alcohol or other drug issues, experience working with clients with dual diagnosis or complex needs, understanding of harm minimisation principles and evidence-based interventions, and strong knowledge of community resources, treatment services, and referral networks.

  • You must have excellent communication skills and be able to build trust quickly, creating a safe and supportive environment where clients feel comfortable sharing personal information.
  • You should also have a non-judgemental, person-centred approach and be committed to guiding and supporting people on their recovery journey.
