
Alcohol Abuse Prevention Specialist

We are seeking a qualified Counsellor to work with individuals struggling with substance abuse. As a key member of our team, you will conduct assessments, provide evidence-based interventions, and support clients in building resilience.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct individual and group support sessions to help clients address harmful behaviors
- Provide thorough assessments and various counselling interventions
- Work with clients to build skills and resilience needed to manage challenges related to substance abuse
- Foster recovery and encourage positive life changes
Requirements:
- Certificate IV or higher in Alcohol and Other Drugs or equivalent
- Current Driver's Licence
- Demonstrated experience in counselling using a range of intervention techniques
- Knowledge of therapeutic approaches for supporting individuals with substance abuse issues
- Strong interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and written skills
- Ability to work effectively with diverse cultural backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
- Capacity to build networks, work independently and in teams, and apply initiative with strong problem-solving skills
