We are seeking a skilled Substance Abuse Nurse Specialist to join our multidisciplinary team. In this role, you will work collaboratively with colleagues to provide comprehensive care and support to individuals affected by substance abuse.
As a Substance Abuse Nurse Specialist, you will be responsible for assessing patients' physical, emotional, and social needs, developing individualized treatment plans, and implementing evidence-based interventions to promote recovery.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting comprehensive assessments of patients' medical, psychological, and social histories
- Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans that address patients' unique needs and goals
- Providing education and support to patients and their families on topics such as addiction, recovery, and health promotion
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless coordination of care and services
- Monitoring patients' progress and adjusting treatment plans accordingly
Required qualifications for this role include:
- Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients, families, and healthcare teams
- Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner
- Demonstrated understanding and participation in risk management, work health and safety, and quality improvement initiatives
