We are currently seeking a professional to fill the role of Substance Abuse Counsellor in a specialist treatment service on the Central Coast. This is an exceptional opportunity for someone to deliver person-centred, strength-based support to individuals experiencing alcohol and drug addiction.

This full-time position involves working with a multidisciplinary team using therapeutic models and interventions to provide comprehensive case management. A high level of expertise in crisis management, complex case management and counselling is required.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting clients through specialised case management
  • Delivering interventions such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) in individual and group settings
  • Building key relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Managing crises effectively and providing specialist expertise in complex case management and counselling

The successful candidate will have a degree or diploma in a relevant field such as Social Work or Counselling. At least two years' experience in a similar role is also essential. Additionally, a current NSW driver's license and Working With Children Check are required.
