Substance Abuse Specialist Career Position

The Drug and Alcohol Service is committed to delivering exceptional care in the management of addiction and other drug and alcohol problems. Our service includes delivery of Opiate Substitution Therapy, specialised Substance Use in Pregnancy clinics, and a busy consultation/liaison service supporting hospitals across the Nepean Blue Mountains region.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide medical support for patients with substance use issues.
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team in managing patients with substance use disorders.
- Engage in research activities and opportunities to pursue higher degrees.
- Supervise Junior Medical Officers and participate in teaching activities.
- MBBS or equivalent qualification.
- Current general registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
- Clinical practice experience in a tertiary setting.
- Minimum 4 years clinical practice in Addiction Medicine or related areas.
- Valid Working with Children Check and National Police Check.
- Qualifications and experience commensurate with the role.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a complex clinical environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexible approach to meet changing situations in a demanding environment.
