About the Role

The role of Payroll Governance and Compliance Manager is pivotal in ensuring the integrity of payroll operations. This position focuses on the establishment and oversight of comprehensive governance and compliance frameworks for payroll processes. It plays a crucial role in enhancing payroll functions and ensuring adherence to relevant employment regulations.

Your Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic initiatives to enhance Time & Attendance and Payroll governance, proactively identifying and addressing payroll-related risks to ensure timely and accurate payroll delivery.
  • Manage and respond to compliance issues and audits, ensuring thorough reviews and timely resolutions.
  • Stay informed about legislative changes impacting payroll, facilitating effective management of necessary adjustments within the payroll framework.
  • Collaborate with Employee Relations to assess the implications of changes in Awards and EBAs on payroll operations.
  • Oversee the execution of the compliance program as defined by the Payroll Operations leadership team.
  • Address data discrepancies by coordinating with team members to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Maintain the Payroll compliance risk register and oversee the continuous improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate will possess a keen attention to detail and a proactive approach to process improvement.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience in establishing payroll governance frameworks.
  • Familiarity with large-scale payroll systems, such as SAP, and Time & Attendance systems.
  • Background in HR and payroll operations.
  • In-depth knowledge of payroll-related legislation and policies.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas and pivot tables.
