The HR Payroll Officer will play a crucial role in the HR Operations team, ensuring the efficient and accurate processing of fortnightly payrolls, as well as administering and maintaining the payroll system and responding to employee queries with support and supervision.
Key Responsibilities- Payroll Processing: Ensure the timely and accurate processing of fortnightly payrolls, including superannuation, general ledger, and chart of accounts.
- Contract Administration: Write contracts and letters of change for employees, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Reporting and Calculations: Run associated reports and complete calculations to ensure accurate payroll processing.
- Payroll System Maintenance: Maintain and administer the payroll system (iChris & EmpLive), ensuring data accuracy and system efficiency.
- Employee Support: Respond to employee enquiries and provide support in a timely manner, ensuring excellent customer service.
- Change Management: Follow up on changes to employment and contracts, ensuring seamless transitions and minimal disruption to payroll processing.
- Payroll Experience: Preferably previous solid experience with payroll functions, including superannuation, general ledger, and chart of accounts.
- System Proficiency: Confident with computerised payroll and rostering systems, ideally iChris.
- Award Interpretation: Strong understanding and experience with award interpretation and application of entitlements.
- Change Enthusiasm: Enthusiasm for change and ability to help refine systems and workflows.
- Employee Focus: A genuine desire to support employees, ensuring they can provide the best outcomes for the children and young people that Berry Street supports.
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills, including working well within a team and the ability to network and build relationships with stakeholders and other regions.
