Job Title: Chef de Partie - Pastry

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chef de Partie - Pastry to join our culinary team at Sofitel Brisbane Central.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a luxury, five-star environment and be part of a high-performing kitchen team. As a Chef de Partie - Pastry, you will be responsible for producing high-quality pastries and gateaux for our French boulangerie, Chou Chou, and other hotel areas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise the pastry kitchen in the absence of the Sous Chefs
  • Produce pastries and gateaux to established recipes and methods
  • Ensure employees are following procedures according to department and hotel policies
  • Follow stock rotation and minimum wastage by control procedures and ensure adequate supplies are available for service
  • Maintain strict food hygiene and safety procedures
  • Assist with the maintenance of programs to ensure high standards of cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen and related outlets
Requirements:
  • Trade qualified in Commercial Cookery and patisseries (essential)
  • Experience in a similar role in a large hotel (preferred)
  • Creativity and passion for food and customer service
  • A true desire to work, grow and develop within a luxury, five-star environment
  • Passionate about providing an exceptional product
  • Committed to undertake growth and development within the Sofitel brand
  • Enthusiastic and professional aptitude
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work closely with all hotel departments
  • A high standard of personal hygiene and presentation
