The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pastry Chef to join our team. As a Pastry Chef de Partie, you will be responsible for the pastry section in the kitchen, as well as supporting the Pastry Chef in directing food preparation and motivating a team of qualified chefs and kitchen stewards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare mise-en-place for your designated work station to ensure smooth service
  • Prepare all food items in accordance with standard recipes for a la carte restaurants, conferences, and events
  • Check food rotation to ensure freshness of all food products
  • Adhere to hotel policies and procedures
  • Meet all health and hygiene requirements and cleanliness
  • Ensure a seamless guest experience through prompt and efficient food service
Requirements
  • Australian recognized trade or relevant certificate III or IV in Patisserie
  • Previous experience of two years in a similar role
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Team player
  • Ability to work on rotating shifts across 7 days
  • Proactive approach to system improvements
  • Knowledge of HACCP and relevant food safety accreditation
