Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of high-quality pastries, desserts, and baked goods, ensuring consistency and excellence in every item.
  • Execute baking and cooking tasks for a variety of pastry items, including cakes, tarts, mousses, and other desserts.
  • Prepare and organize ingredients for daily production, including measuring, mixing, and prepping components.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels for pastry ingredients, reporting shortages and assisting with stock rotation.
  • Work closely with other members of the kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient service.
  • Continuously develop your pastry skills by learning from senior chefs and participating in training.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar role in an events/functions setting or hotel setting is essential.
  • Previous experience as a pastry or dessert specialised commis chef is desired.
  • Undeniable pride for creating and delivering consistent, high quality produce.
  • Be a positive and collaborative team player.
  • Open to learning and ready for growth.
  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or Trade Papers.
  • Flexible availability.
