Data Scientist Position for Innovation and Business Development

The University of Queensland is seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist to join our team and contribute to the success of our innovation pathways program.
As a Data Scientist, you will be responsible for sourcing and analyzing data, generating business insights, and driving evidence-based decisions. You will work closely with the Innovation Pathways Lead and Lead Data Scientist to deliver innovative solutions that meet the needs of participating companies.
Key Responsibilities- Engineer, prototype, validate, and deploy statistical and machine learning models to solve complex problems using R and Python programming languages.
- Develop and conduct complex statistical analysis plans for research studies, including regression, text mining, topic modeling, sentiment analysis, and choice modeling.
- Build comprehensive data repositories by integrating individual data sets, including primary and secondary data.
- Deploy statistical and machine learning models in the cloud to support visualizations and investigations.
- Manage large-scale datasets, ensuring best-practice data governance and fulfilling ethical obligations.
- A PhD or Master's qualification in Data Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience in collecting, investigating, manipulating, and analyzing complex datasets using R and Python programming languages.
- Advanced knowledge of statistical analysis and machine learning techniques, including natural language processing, predictive modeling, and multivariate analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and execute diverse programs of work, managing projects and tasks effectively.
