About This Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Data Scientist to join our team at The University of Queensland. In this role, you will work closely with the Innovation Pathways Lead and Lead Data Scientist to deliver innovative solutions and drive evidence-based decision making.
The primary purpose of this position is to source and analyse data, generating business insights and creating value for our participating companies engaging with FaBA Innovation Pathways.
As a Data Scientist, you will be responsible for engineering, prototyping, validating, and deploying statistical and machine learning models to solve complex problems using R and Python programming languages.
You will also develop and conduct complex statistical analysis plans for research studies, including regression, text mining, topic modelling, sentiment analysis, and choice modelling.
About You
- You must have a PhD or masters qualification in Data Science (or a combination of statistics and computer science), or Business, Management, and Marketing.
- You should have experience and knowledge of data science approaches to drive evidence-based business decision making.
- You should be proficient in collecting, investigating, manipulating, and analysing complex datasets using R and Python programming languages.
- You should have advanced knowledge of statistical analysis and machine learning techniques, including natural language processing, predictive modelling, and multivariate analysis.
