The safety of our employees is paramount, and as such, we seek a highly skilled Senior Safety Professional to join our Olympic Dam safety team.

This role provides coaching, technical expertise and advice on various aspects of safety systems and risk management to leaders across site. You will be responsible for analysing safety data and information sources to identify emerging safety trends and recommend safety improvement initiatives.

In this role, you will:

  • Analyse safety data to identify areas of improvement and implement measures to enhance safety protocols
  • Provide coaching and guidance to site personnel on site safety systems and procedures
  • Conduct training sessions on various safety systems to ensure compliance and adherence
  • Establish and lead an investigation quality working group to maintain the capability of investigation facilitators
  • Monitor a Safety email inbox and respond to support operational needs
  • Develop and implement safety field leadership improvement programs to promote hazard awareness and identification
  • Support the sites Health and Safety Representative Process

Please note that this position is based at Olympic Dam, operating on a 7/7 dayshift roster arrangement, with residential, FIFO (from Adelaide) or DIDO options available.

Your Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Previous experience in a safety role
  • Experience in the mining industry
  • A tertiary qualification, or equivalent industry experience managing safety
  • Certificate IV in OHS
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to influence at multiple levels in an organisation
  • Coaching and mentoring skills with a genuine desire to help people achieve outcomes and support continuous improvement
  • Experience with facilitating safety incident investigations
  • Sound data analytical skills
  • A current C class motor licence or equivalent Australian state motor vehicle licence

Salary Package

We offer a competitive salary package, including a base salary of $140,000 per annum, plus performance-based bonuses and a best-in-class employee share program.
