About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Health and Safety Professional to join our team at Healthscope. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional who is passionate about ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.

Job Description
  • We are recruiting for a HSW Specialist to provide pure safety and wellbeing across 2 neighbouring sites.
  • The position involves building capability and enhancing accountability for safety amongst managers, supervisors, and frontline workers through coaching and influencing.
  • You will display and promote HSW practices through active field-based leadership and engagement.

In this role, you will drive safe systems of work, quality incident investigations, and the delivery of visible and felt leadership through education, coaching, and monitoring programs.

Responsibilities
  1. Consult with managers, supervisors, HSC members, contractors, and third parties on brownfield and operational safety issues.
  2. Provide advice and assistance in identifying opportunities and solutions that enhance HSW outcomes.
  3. Participate and contribute to risk management activities, including facilitating risk and workplace assessments.
  4. Develop, implement, and monitor gap closure plans in consultation with Site Executive Team.
  5. Monitor and review Site HSW performance with Site Executive Team to identify trends, hotspots, and celebrate success.

Requirements
  • A minimum Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety or higher with at least 5 years safety experience.
  • Strong influencing skills and ability to coach and develop teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
