Estimated Salary: AU$120,000 - AU$150,000 per annum

This role provides an excellent opportunity for a Senior Safety Professional to join our Olympic Dam safety team and contribute to the success of our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse safety data and information sources to identify emerging safety trends and recommend safety improvement initiatives
  • Provide coaching, technical expertise, and advice on various aspects of safety systems and risk management to leaders across site
  • Actively attend various safety routines across site, promoting a culture of safety and excellence
  • Conduct training sessions across various safety systems, ensuring all personnel have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles safely and effectively
  • Lead a safety field leadership improvement program, promoting hazard awareness and identification among all personnel
  • Support the sites Health and Safety Representative Process, working closely with our HSRs to ensure a safe and healthy work environment
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a safety role, preferably in the mining industry
  • A tertiary qualification, or equivalent industry experience managing safety
  • Certificate IV in OHS
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence at multiple levels in an organisation
  • Coaching and mentoring skills, with a genuine desire to help people achieve outcomes and support continuous improvement
  • Experience with facilitating safety incident investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective action development
  • Sound data analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets and provide actionable insights
