Role Overview

As a Senior Safety and Quality Professional, you will play a key leadership role in providing hands-on safety leadership and expertise to the team working in a high-risk Iron and steel manufacturing industry.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide safety leadership and expertise to the team, leading them towards harm reduction and continuous improvement.
  • Support the team in risk assessments and management.
  • Lead environmental compliance and continuous improvement on site.
  • Develop and maintain effective internal audit programs and conduct regular audits against relevant ISO Standards (i.e. ISO 9001, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001).
  • Update and maintain the company's internal management systems and safety registers including recording all information relating to safety, environment, and quality processes.
  • Incident investigations, incident management processes and reporting, prepare job procedures/SWMS as required.
  • Prepare reports for customers and all levels of organization.
  • Lead worker compensation process and improve outcomes for the employee.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain company policies and procedures ensuring updates are being appropriately completed and communicated to management, staff, and external stakeholders in accordance with all legislative requirements and industry best practice standards.
  • Manage and provide support to contractors on site including organizing inductions.
  • Lead the site training programs ensuring all compliances, skills accreditation and legal training are completed.
