Senior Health and Safety Specialist

At Safety People, we are committed to creating a safe work environment that extends beyond compliance. As a Work Health & Safety (WHS) Consultant, you will play a critical role in mentoring others in their safety journey and influencing the culture of our organisation.
About the RoleThis Redfern-based role requires some travel to support various programs and divisions. You will work closely with leaders and teams across different locations, guiding them in managing WHS risks and implementing our WHS Management System.
You will provide training and specialist advice to foster a positive safety culture, ensuring compliance with WHS regulations. This is an exciting opportunity for those at the start of their safety career or looking to make a meaningful contribution to the community with their seasoned WHS experience.
Key Responsibilities- Support leaders and workers across various divisions in managing WHS risks.
- Provide WHS guidance, deliver training, and ensure compliance with WHS regulations.
- Assist with WHS projects and contribute to the national WHS strategy.
- Participate in incident investigations and facilitate risk assessments.
We are looking for individuals with a strong understanding of WHS legislation, codes of practice, and risk management principles. The ideal candidate will have:
- Diploma in Work Health & Safety (WHS) or equivalent (mandatory).
- Degree in WHS, Human Resources, or related field (desirable).
- Proven experience in conducting audits, incident investigations, and risk assessments.
- Strong ability to build relationships with stakeholders across various teams and external bodies.
- Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel as required.
