About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Community Development Officer to join our team in Wagga Wagga. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting refugee communities, undertaking community development work, and coordinating STARTTS group programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in STARTTS work with schools and youth and children's services
  • Support and source funding for community development projects within various refugee communities
  • Network and liaison with relevant stakeholders
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Qualifications in Community Development, Social Work, Social Sciences, or Groupwork, or significant experience in the area
  • Demonstrated understanding of the effects of torture and trauma on individuals, families, and communities
  • Bilingual in a community language relevant to refugee communities living in Wagga Wagga
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in community development, advocacy, partnership building, and community liaison in a multicultural context
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team within a multicultural environment
  • Current NSW driver's licence
