Agronomist - Crop Specialist

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Agronomist to join our team at Elders Rural on a permanent, full-time basis.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert agronomic advice and technical support to our clients, helping them to achieve their agricultural goals and improve their business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide onsite agronomic and technical support to clients, recommending appropriate products and services to strengthen their business
- Achieve allocated financial objectives and assist with product forecasting and inventory management
- Promote branch staff upskilling by providing technical advice and product recommendations
- Develop and foster professional relationships with a targeted group of existing and new clients
- Identify and cultivate new agronomic sales opportunities for prospective and existing clients
- Maximise promotional opportunities, including assisting at field days and farmer meetings with demonstrations and trial work
- Be part of the rural products sales team to build strong client relationships, promote beneficial products, and enhance business success
- Help manage branch retail operations to exceed targets and monitor rural products performance against key metrics
- Source new business opportunities to expand market share and assist in setting retail sales targets and business planning
- Provide product expertise, oversee sales transactions, individual and branch targets while supporting national initiatives
About You
- Able to thrive in a collaborative working environment
- Relevant agronomy qualifications
- Smart, resourceful, and able to embrace industry research and new technology
- Passionate about effecting real change for both your clients and your community – with building and maintaining relationships at the core of your work
- Background in disciplines such as pasture and broadacre
- Proven track record in sales and previous experience in an agronomy role
- Ability to provide high-level customer service and cultivate relationships with potential and current growers
- Tertiary qualification in agricultural science or a related field
- Thrives in a flexible and agile working environment
