About the Role

Elders Rural is seeking an experienced Agronomist to join our Wagga Wagga Branch on a permanent, full-time basis.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing agronomic technical advice, products, and services to clients, building and maintaining strong relationships to help them create a successful, sustainable, and productive business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide onsite agronomic and technical support to clients to recommend appropriate products and services
  • Achieve allocated financial objectives and assist with product forecasting and inventory management
  • Promote branch staff upskilling by providing technical advice and product recommendations
  • Develop and foster professional relationships with a targeted group of existing and new clients
  • Identify and cultivate new agronomic sales opportunities for prospective and existing clients
  • Maximise promotional opportunities, including assisting at field days and farmer meetings with demonstrations and trial work
  • Be part of the rural products sales team to build strong client relationships, promote beneficial products, and enhance business success
  • Help manage branch retail operations to exceed targets and monitor rural products performance against key metrics
  • Source new business opportunities to expand market share and assist in setting retail sales targets and business planning
  • Provide product expertise, oversee sales transactions, individual and branch targets while supporting national initiatives
About You
  • Able to thrive in a collaborative working environment
  • Relevant agronomy qualifications
  • Smart, resourceful, and able to embrace industry research and new technology
  • Passionate about effecting real change for both clients and the community, with building and maintaining relationships at the core of your work
  • Background in disciplines such as pasture and broadacre
  • Proven track record in sales and previous experience in an agronomy role
  • Ability to provide high-level customer service and cultivate relationships with potential and current growers
  • Tertiary qualification in agricultural science or a related field
  • Thrives in a flexible and agile working environment
