About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Application Support Specialist to join our team at Transurban. As a critical member of our IT Operations team, you'll play a key role in ensuring the operational availability and integrity of our core Tolling system.

Your primary responsibility will be to provide operational support to our Tolling system, a critical element of our business that enables roadside transactions to be constructed into trips. You'll work closely with our development team to identify and resolve issues, and ensure that our system is running smoothly and efficiently.

As an Application Support Specialist, you'll be responsible for:

  • Performing 24/7 on-call duties on a rostered basis and performing after-hours work as required
  • Proactively monitoring the billing system and performing daily/periodical health checks
  • Actioning application service requests at a Level 1 & 2 level, in accordance with SLA guidelines to meet key department objectives
  • Logging service requests in the IT Service desk system and ensuring they are maintained with accurate, complete and up-to-date information
  • Ensuring customers are kept informed of the status of their requests
  • Contributing to the continuing development of IT Operations processes, procedures, standards and methodologies

We're looking for someone with a curious mind and transferable skills and experiences, including:

  • Experience in applications support of mission-critical systems (Oracle Fusion suite desirable)
  • Skills using scheduling tools such as Jenkins, CA Workload Automation
  • Technical support experience in Linux/UNIX, client/server and networking environments with proficiency in the use of related diagnostic tools
  • Experience in monitoring tools such as Splunk, Oracle Enterprise monitoring
  • Knowledgeable in AWS Services
  • Exposure to Oracle RDBMS and Microsoft SQL Server
  • Experience analysing & documenting application configurations and operational processes
  • Understanding of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and its application in the Oracle product suite is desirable
