Compliance and Regulatory Officer

At Randwick City Council, we are seeking a skilled Senior Swimming Pool Compliance Officer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for you to make a difference in our community while working with us.
About the Position:
- We are looking for a highly motivated individual who can effectively implement Council's regulatory swimming pool and building/development compliance functions and services.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting and assessing properties with swimming pools, issuing notices, directions, and penalty notices as per the Swimming Pools Act 1992.
- The role also involves coordinating and implementing Council's responsibilities under the Swimming Pools Act 1992, including our Swimming Pools Inspection Program.
Key Responsibilities:
- To inspect and assess properties with swimming pools and issue notices, directions, and penalty notices in accordance with the Swimming Pools Act 1992.
- To coordinate and implement Council's responsibilities under the Swimming Pools Act 1992, including Council's Swimming Pools Inspection Program.
- To perform other related activities as outlined in the Position Description.
Requirements:
- Tertiary qualifications in building surveying, swimming pool compliance, regulatory investigations, or other relevant qualifications and/or demonstrated experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the implementation of Council's responsibilities and functions in the Swimming Pools Act 1992, Swimming Pools Regulation 2018, and associated Standards.
- Good knowledge of the provisions of the Swimming Pools Act 1992, Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979, Local Government Act 1993, and other Local Government legislation.
