Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Development Advisory Officer to join our Development Assessment team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing expert advice on strategic and statutory planning matters.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Reviewing and advising on pre-development applications;
  • Assessing development-related applications to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and planning provisions;
  • Delivering excellent customer experience through effective communication and problem-solving skills;
  • Undertaking assessment of Development Applications, section 4.55 modification applications, and section 8.2 review applications;
  • Appearing as an Expert Witness in the Land and Environment Court.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification/s in planning, architecture, or urban design, or a related field;
  • Minimum 3 years of extensive planning experience, preferably in development assessment and/or duty planning in local government;
  • Good knowledge of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 and other relevant environmental and planning legislation;
  • Strong communication skills and ability to maintain good interpersonal relationships;
  • Awareness of and commitment to the principles of quality customer services and experience.
