Role Overview

The Children's Cancer Institute is seeking a highly skilled Research Officer to join our team in Embryonal Cancer Therapy and Prevention. As a key member of our research team, you will be responsible for performing cutting-edge research to study the mechanisms of drug resistance and develop new treatments for childhood cancer.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Design and conduct experiments to study the initiation and progression of childhood cancer
  • Develop novel combination therapies and prevention strategies
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve outstanding results in experimental work
  • Contribute to the development of high-quality publications
  • Prepare and submit grant applications to secure research funding
  • Present research findings at conferences and seminars
  • Train and supervise students in a daily basis
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and Institute policies

Requirements:

  • PhD in a relevant scientific or medical field
  • Experience in molecular and cellular biology
  • Experience with single-cell profiling is an advantage
  • Experience working with animal models
  • Ability to design and conduct experiments independently and in a team environment
  • Bioinformatics skills are advantageous
  • Advanced computer skills
  • Commitment to conducting experiments involving humans, animals, and GMOs under strict ethical and regulatory guidelines
  • Interest in developing techniques and using the latest technology in research projects
