About the Role

We are currently seeking a Strategic Human Resources Advisor to join Laing O'Rourke on a large Civil/Rail project based in Melbourne, VIC. This full-time role offers exciting career opportunities in joining a people-centric, privately owned tier 1 constructor and an international engineering enterprise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide timely and accurate HR/IR advice and guidance, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
  • Facilitate and support performance development, performance management, and disciplinary processes to drive employee growth and productivity.
  • Support the People Lead in developing and implementing proactive employee engagement and retention strategies, focusing on diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Contribute to achieving the people business plan objectives and support all HR activities across the project, including resource planning, workforce development, employee development, and engagement.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to implement initiatives that align with the delivery of the projects Workforce Development and Industry Participation Strategy and Plan.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A minimum of 5+ years' experience in a generalist Human Resources Advisory role, with a strong understanding of HR principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build collaborative relationships with stakeholders and influence decision-making to achieve necessary outcomes.
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality and build trust to deal with sensitive and difficult situations in a diplomatic and respectful manner.
  • A tertiary qualification in Human Resource Management or equivalent, demonstrating your commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
  • Experience within the construction industry is highly desirable but not essential.

This role offers a competitive salary of approximately $95,000 - $115,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
