About the Role

As a mid-market Sales Executive within Zeller's Sales division, you will be encouraged to leverage your hands-on approach, creative problem-solving abilities, business development expertise, and competitive spirit to serve as a partner and advocate for Australian SMEs.

This role emphasizes relationship-building over aggressive selling. We believe that establishing strong, lasting connections with business owners is essential for success. Our merchants vary widely—from family-owned enterprises to multi-location chains and large-scale events. Each day will present unique challenges, and you will excel in going above and beyond to support diverse merchants by championing their needs and supporting their growth. This position requires active engagement—you will be meeting business owners in person, gaining a comprehensive understanding of their operations, and utilizing that insight to position Zeller as the optimal solution for enhancing their cash flow.

This position is ideal for an emerging Sales Executive or Business Development Manager who thrives in ambiguity and is excited about creating processes while executing them simultaneously. Key Responsibilities

  • Engage in prospecting activities targeting small, medium, and large businesses through various methods, including outbound lead generation, cold outreach, referrals, and more, complemented by a growing inbound lead stream.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the challenges and needs of business owners, crafting tailored Zeller solutions that exceed their expectations.
  • Maintain meticulous management of your leads and deals pipeline within the Hubspot Sales Hub, ensuring outstanding attention to detail.
  • Oversee the complete sales cycle, including planning, cold outreach, qualifying leads, conducting due diligence, and closing new deals to surpass individual targets.
  • Simplify complex merchant banking and service requirements into clear, compelling solutions.
  • Create an exceptional first impression for Zeller's merchants through storytelling, case studies, presentations, and industry insights that illustrate our value as their ideal banking partner.
  • Formulate commercially viable deals across diverse customer scenarios, sectors, and intricate economic landscapes.
  • Stay informed about trends in SMEs, technology, fintech, payments, competitors, and industry developments relevant to your merchants.
  • Collaborate with Zeller team members across Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Product, and Operations to communicate customer feedback effectively.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 4 years of practical experience in a sales role with a proven track record of meeting quarterly objectives.
  • A genuine interest in people and their businesses, enabling you to inspire and share their stories effectively.
  • A strong commercial acumen with demonstrated success in managing and increasing revenue.
  • Relevant tertiary education or a proven track record of experience that demonstrates equivalent capability.
  • Proficient experience in prospecting, identifying target clients, evaluating buyer interest, recognizing decision-making processes, qualifying leads, creating value-driven demonstrations, selling complex solutions, writing proposals, handling objections, and negotiating.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or remotely from your team.
  • A competitive spirit and a strong desire to succeed.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative work approach.
  • Outstanding written, verbal, and oral communication skills.
  • Agile, ambitious, and motivated to excel in all endeavors.
  • Resilience in challenging situations and comfort with ambiguity.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, responsibilities, and deadlines effectively.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Experience with Hubspot or similar CRM tools, as well as proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Suite.
