Business Development Manager

A key role has emerged in our organization, centered around fostering strategic partnerships with top-tier brokers. The successful candidate will be a commercially astute relationship builder with an in-depth understanding of the general insurance landscape.

This position reports directly to the State Manager - WA and is pivotal in shaping trading relationships with a designated panel of brokers. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing a deep understanding of broker business models to identify opportunities for growth and collaboration.
  • Working closely with underwriting, claims, and risk engineering teams to deliver value propositions across all segments.
  • Maintaining open communication and transparency across broker relationships and internal teams.
  • Analyzing market intelligence to develop strategies that drive market advantage.
  • Designing and implementing multi-tiered relationship infrastructure across relevant lines and segments.
  • Representing the organization at industry events, ensuring consistent messaging with marketing and leadership.

The ideal candidate will possess 5-7 years of experience in a broker-facing or strategic sales role, ANZIIF CIP membership or equivalent, and strong knowledge of underwriting and claims processes. A proven ability to develop long-term business relationships and strategic plans is essential, as well as experience in relationship/strategic selling within the insurance sector.
