NBN Field Technician

About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Telecommunication Field Technician to support the activation and assurance of NBN services at customer premises. Reporting to the Field Supervisor, you will handle day-to-day tasks involved in network activation and service assurance. This is a full-time permanent role with openings in Melbourne, Victoria, and Hobart, Tasmania.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the operations team to meet contractual KPIs
- Deliver outstanding customer service
- Work closely with the Field Supervisor to ensure prompt resolution of issues
- Install aerial fibre and copper within the power corridor
- Perform NBN installations and activations at customer premises
- Conduct basic fault testing and diagnostics within the NBN network
- Support and mentor trainees as part of our Traineeship Program
- Conduct site audits and ensure client expectations are met
About You:
The ideal candidate will have solid experience working on NBN technologies, particularly at customer premises, and possess strong communication and stakeholder management skills. In addition, you'll have:
- Experience in the telecommunications industry, with a Certificate III in Telecommunications (or equivalent)
- In-depth knowledge of FTTN & FTTP technologies
- A proven track record of delivering excellent customer service
- NBN Enable certification
- Expertise in cabling at customer premises
- Skills in basic fault diagnosis within the NBN network
- Accreditation for aerial fibre and copper installations
- A commitment to high-quality workmanship with no defects
- Adherence to productivity, safety, and quality standards
- A proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential hazards, ensuring a safe work environment
