Preamble

We are seeking an Associate Professor for an Academic Lead in Indigenous Health role at the University of Wollongong. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the teaching and learning of Indigenous Health within the University of Wollongong's Doctor of Medicine Program.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide leadership in curriculum development, teaching, assessment, and research of Indigenous Health for the UOW MD program.
* Collaborate closely with the co-Academic Program Directors and the Academic Lead for Assessment to effectively address the needs of the medical program.
* Work alongside the GSM Academic Lead, Admissions and the Pre-Medicine Academic Coordinator in the School of Medical, Indigenous and Health Sciences to support the recruitment, selection and retention of Indigenous students within the MD program.

Requirements

* Suitably qualified with a deep understanding of Aboriginal knowledges and perspectives.
* Strong relationships with the Aboriginal community.
* Necessary experience and attributes for teaching Indigenous health at a tertiary level.
* Demonstrated track record in conducting research in an area of Indigenous Health.
* Excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills.
* Commitment to the personal, professional and academic development of Indigenous students and academics.
