Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced academic psychiatrist to join our team at the University of Wollongong. As a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Psychiatry, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality teaching and clinical training to our Doctor of Medicine students.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of the next generation of medical professionals, with a focus on mental health teaching in Phase 3 of the curriculum. You will work closely with our clinical academic staff to support teaching within the rural training hub and across the GSM's MD rural training footprint.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality teaching and clinical training to Doctor of Medicine students
  • Develop and implement programs to support teaching and learning in psychiatry
  • Work collaboratively with clinical academic staff to support teaching and research
  • Contribute to the development of curriculum and assessment materials
  • Engage with stakeholders to promote the University of Wollongong's medical education programs
Requirements
  • Current or anticipated appointment as an Advanced Trainee/consultant psychiatrist in the Shoalhaven, Southern Highlands or one of UOW's MD rural training hubs
  • Qualifications and experience in psychiatry, with a strong understanding of equal opportunity principles and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and build relationships with diverse stakeholders
